Frequently Asked Questions

What is a smart tour guide app?

A smart tour guide app is a digital visitor experience that helps people explore a venue at their own pace using self-guided tours, multimedia content, and location-based information.
With Pigeon-Tech, visitors can choose a tour, follow curated stops, and access configured content such as:
1. Audio
2. Text
3. Images
4. Video
5. Exhibit or attraction information
6. Nearby places
7. Related stories
The experience can be used across museums, zoos, aquariums, attractions, heritage sites, and other visitor environments.

How does the Pigeon-Tech Smart Tour Guide work?

Visitors open the Tour Guide, choose an available tour, and move through a sequence of curated stops.
At each stop, they can access configured content such as:
1. Audio narration
2. Descriptions
3. Images
4. Video
5. Stories
6. Related information
They can then continue to the next stop or explore nearby exhibits, attractions, amenities, or other places.
The exact tour flow is configured for each venue.

Can we create multiple themed tours?

Yes. Pigeon-Tech can support multiple tours when they are configured for the deployment.
A venue may create different experiences for:
1. Families
2. Students
3. First-time visitors
4. History or heritage themes
5. Animal or habitat tours
6. Behind-the-scenes stories
7. Seasonal programs
8. Special events
Each tour can have its own stops, content, and visitor journey.

Can visitors access audio, images, video, and text at each tour stop?

Yes. Tour stops can include supported multimedia content such as:
1. Audio narration
2. Text descriptions
3. Images
4. Video
5. Educational information
6. Related content
The exact media available depends on what the venue provides and what is configured for the tour.
This allows organizations to present more context than is possible through physical signage alone.

Can the Tour Guide include nearby places and amenities?

Yes. Pigeon-Tech Tour Guide can connect visitors with nearby configured places and points of interest.
Depending on the venue, this may include:
1. Exhibits
2. Animals or habitats
3. Attractions
4. Dining
5. Shops
6. Restrooms
7. Events
8. Amenities
9. Other nearby experiences
This helps visitors move naturally from the tour into broader venue discovery.

Depending on the deployment, visitors may continue accessing:
1. Tour stops

without relying on an active internet connection.

How is a smart tour guide different from a traditional audio tour?

A traditional audio tour typically provides a fixed sequence of recorded narration.
A smart tour guide can provide a broader digital experience that may include:
1. Audio
2. Text
3. Images
4. Video
5. Multiple themed tours
6. Nearby places
7. Interactive maps
8. Multilingual content
9. Related exhibits and attractions
Visitors can explore more flexibly instead of following only one fixed audio sequence.
In Pigeon-Tech, the Tour Guide can also connect with other platform features to create a more complete visitor journey.

Can venue teams update Tour Guide content after launch?

Yes. Tour Guide content can be updated according to the administration and content-management capabilities included in the deployment.
